Borne

‘Borne’, a film inspired by a poem in the book ‘Key and Other Poems’, originated from a creative collaboration between poet James E. Kenward and painter Maximillian Magnus.

The poem ‘Borne’, was inspired by Magnus's artwork, and tells the story of a dancer whose journey to overcome emotional restraints is defined by finding love.

The film adaptation cam later, after the poem was transformed into a musical piece in collaboration with pianist Bota Zakir. The process of turning the poem into a story, then into music, and finally into a film, reflects the evolving artistic journey that began with the book ‘Key and Other Poems’.
